Nomad Knot (“Nomad Knot,” “we,” “us”) operates a marketplace for authentic handmade Afghan rugs and carpets. This Vendor Policy explains the standards and rules that apply to all sellers (“Sellers,” “you”) who list or sell on Nomad Knot.
1) Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to:
- Sellers who list products on Nomad Knot
- Seller applicants who submit an application
- Anyone managing listings, orders, or customer messages as a seller
2) Eligibility and seller accounts
To sell on Nomad Knot, you must:
- Provide accurate account and contact information
- Submit any verification information we request (where applicable)
- Keep your store details, shipping origin, and product details up to date
3) What you can sell
Nomad Knot focuses on:
- Handmade Afghan rugs and carpets (wool, silk, or mixed fibers)
- Flatweaves/kilims (if handmade)
- Rug-related handmade textiles (optional, if clearly relevant)
4) Prohibited items
You may not list:
- Machine-made rugs presented as handmade
- Counterfeit, copied, or stolen goods
- Items you do not have the right to sell
- Illegal, restricted, or sanctioned items
- Offensive, hateful, or inappropriate content
5) Authenticity and quality standards
All listings must be truthful. You must:
- Clearly state whether the item is hand-knotted, hand-tufted, or flatwoven
- Describe materials (for example: wool, silk, cotton foundation) and dyes if known
- Disclose defects or repairs (stains, holes, heavy wear, fringe damage)
- Use real photos of the exact item being sold (no stock photos)
6) Listing requirements (photos + details)
Your listing must include:

Materials, weave type, condition, and origin (if known)

Clear shipping origin location

Close-ups of pattern and texture

Back of rug (to show weave)

7) Pricing and fees
Sellers set their own prices. You are responsible for:
- Pricing your items fairly and accurately
- Any platform fees/commission shown in your seller account (if applicable)
- Any payment processing fees (if applicable)
- Any taxes, duties, or export/import costs required by your location
8) Shipping and fulfillment
You must:
- Ship within your stated handling time
- Pack rugs securely to prevent damage (moisture protection recommended)
- Provide tracking when available
- Notify the buyer promptly if delays occur
If you cannot fulfill an order, you must contact the buyer and request cancellation immediately.
9) Communication and customer service
You must:
- Respond to buyer messages within a reasonable time (recommended 24–48 hours)
- Communicate respectfully and professionally
- Provide accurate updates about order status, shipping, and availability
10) Cancellations, returns, and refunds
Returns and refunds may depend on Nomad Knot’s Returns & Refunds Policy and any seller terms allowed on the platform.
Sellers must:
- Cooperate in disputes (photos, tracking, condition proof)
- Follow platform refund/cancellation decisions where required
- Accept responsibility for items that are significantly not as described
11) Intellectual property (IP)
You may only use:
- Photos you took yourself, or you have permission to use
- Descriptions you wrote yourself
You may not copy:
- Other sellers’ photos, text, or branding
- Protected logos or copyrighted images without permission
12) Enforcement
If you violate this policy, Nomad Knot may:
- Remove listings
- Limit listing visibility
- Suspend or terminate seller accounts
- Take steps needed to prevent fraud or resolve disputes (as permitted by law)
